"Some time after summer, we came to the idea of hosting another Behance Portfolio Review in Zagreb, this time taking a step forward and making a leap of faith into a blend of art, design and education.
We decided to call the event Designeyland, an ironic play on the mish-mash of various events and activities that calls upon associations with Disneyland - the crown jewel of activity-packed places.
The digital visuals were created for all the immediate and necessary online communication and the on-location posters were hand-painted and overprinted with black to save money on print and create a set of unique art posters of which some were hanged around the city, while others were displayed at the event.” View full project and appreciate it on Behance!
Rational International is a creative communications collective – they conceive, develop and produce creative content for both traditional and new media.
I have a deep adoration for hyper-coloring.
Whenever I read in artist magazines it seems like they have to have this deep, meaningful story about their pieces in order for their logic to make sense. One artist that stood out in partciular is “haunted” by her muse, thinking of her subject as this sentient being that constantly evades her grasp and is a coy, living spirit. While it is good to have purpose behind what you draw, I almost find it funny that no one in these books ever says anything simple like “because I enjoy it”. Sometimes, art doesn’t need purpose. If it makes sense to you, don’t worry about trying to justify it to others. Maybe that’s why I’m not a professional yet? :P
There’s some upper nudity in this one so I’m putting it under a cut. Basically a fight between being yourself and being what people expect you to be.
"Other people stare at her while she keeps her eyes to the Heavens, dreaming of six arms."
I know, I’m so inactive. A lot of crazy things have been going on at work, and I’ve had to pick up some shifts. Plus transitioning from my one class to another; it’s my final and I’m trying to tidy up my old projects a bit for re-evaluation. I will post more soon! Please be patient :) Thank you all.
